Re: [WM]: What is the progress of audio watermarking?
Dear Bobo,
I wish this email is helpful to you!
Audio watermarking will play an important role in ownership protection.
According to IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) , STEP2000 and SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) ,
audio watermarking should be robust to temporal scaling of 10% and be able to resist the most common signal processing manipulations
and attacks, such as random cropping, MP3 compression, re-sampling, etc.
Recently, audio watermarking draw more attention and develop greatly. Among the various problems to be solved, the robustness of
audio watermarking against desynchronization distortions such as the TSM, random cropping, is the most challenging one for previous
watermarking schemes yet.
Desynchronization attacks that cause displacement between embedding and detection in time domain are difficult for watermark to
survive.
Simply, audio watermarking robust to desynchronization operation and MP3 compression is still difficult in watermarking community.
You can choose this issue as a topic for your research.

proposed some schemes aiming to combat the DA/AD distortion and the TSM attacks, some published or accepted in international journal
