*STOCHASTIC IMAGE PROCESSING GROUP*
*COMPUTER VISION AND MULTIMEDIA LABORATORY*

An application is invited for a PhD position at the Stochastic Image Processing Group (SIP), Computer Vision and Multimedia
Laboratory (CVML), University of Geneva, Switzerland. The successful applicant w= ill be a part of a well established team of
researchers developing new methods for digital data hiding, document security and mobile technologies. Our overall aim is to produce
fast transparent solution= s that address the real needs of users of Digital Multimedia in the Information Age.
The expertise of the ideal applicant should fit the following profile= in decreasing order of importance:
กค digital communications
กค statistical image processing
กค image and video watermarking
กค information theory
*SALARY*: about 45'000 CHF per annum - (see http://www.oanda.com/ for currency conversion).
*STARTING DATE*: as soon as possible.
*PROGRAMMING SKILLS:*
Experience in software development using Matlab is mandatory, C/C++ a= nd Java (at least one is needed).
*LANGUAGE*: Excellent skills of speaking and writing English are mandatory, knowledge of French is welcome. French is the spoken
langu= age in Geneva so some knowledge of French is necessary, as well as the willingness to learn more in order to participate to
department activ= ities.
