  These images are more or less a standard against which we can test our algorithms and compare results.
  Without these images which have become 'standard' and are available for free, it would be a real problem to compare results in
image processing.
  There are a wide variety of images which have better 'details' or 'color composition', etc. But the use of about 6 or 7 images is
more popular, including Lena, Baboon, F-16, etc.
