An application is invited for a PhD position at the Stochastic Image = Processing Group (SIP), Computer Vision and Multimedia
Laboratory= (CVML), University of Geneva, Switzerland. The successful applicant w= ill be a part of a well established team
of researchers developing new = methods for digital data hiding, document security and mobile technologies. Our overall aim
is to produce fast transparent solution= s that address the real needs of users of Digital Multimedia in the= Information
Age.
The expertise of the ideal applicant should fit the following profile= in decreasing order of importance:
· statistical image processing
· information theory
· digital communications
· image and video watermarking
· cryptography
*SALARY*: about 45'000 CHF per annum
*STARTING DATE* (expected): 1 April, 2006.
*PROGRAMMING SKILLS:*
Experience in software development using Matlab, C/C++ and Java is= mandatory.
*LANGUAGE*: Excellent skills of speaking and writing English are mandatory, knowledge of French is highly welcome. French is the
spoke= n language in Geneva so some knowledge of French is necessary, as well = as the willingness to learn more in order to
participate to department= activities.
