Dear Sam,
I think you can use C code in Matlab with minor modifications. Moreoevr, there might be some software that might be better to
convert C code to Matlab one, please serach at google.
For confernce news: IWDW, ICIP, ICME, ICASSP, MMM, ... for more search at google.
