Dear awrangjeb,

I know two ways of reading raw images: one with Adobe Photoshop, that recognizes this format, or if you use Matlab and you install
WaveLab on your computer, see link http://www-stat.stanford.edu/~wavelab/ it has a function called ReadImage that can read raw
images.

You can then convert the image into a known format, like BMP for instance.
