Hi,
I'm currently working toward the international cooperative Ph.D degree at the University of Yeungnam, Korea and the INSA de Lyon,
France.
Until my master course, I had researched watermarking. (But now, I work for data compression.)
I would like to guide something to help you.

-------->ures of digital signal processing or image processing? These kinds of textbook is essential to work for multimedia data
processing including many applications such as watermarking, compression, quality assessment system, pattern recognition and so on.
You can improve your theoretical ability by some kinds of bible text, for example, R.C. Gonzalez et al., "Digital Image Processing",
Addison Wesley.
But don't worry. Many researchers have already linked so many document to help you implement some fomula by C/C++. Use the search
engine such as Google.

--------> To have a new idea, you should read several well-written journal papers or text-book. I would like to recommend a paper,
W.Bender, et al., "Techniques for Data Hiding", IBM Journal, Vol. 35, Nos. 3&4, 1996, pp. 313-336. It will help you understand the
concept of watermarking in short time.

-------->Haar Wavelet Transform? It is not good to try to use a transform or theoretical functions without an obvious reason. Of
course, frequency analysis based method have more robust and invisible performance than spatial/time domain based ones. But you
should carefully choose the transform because there are many differences according to wavelet analysis filter banks. As you are
beginner of watermarking, you need to start from spatial domain based method, and then try to develop a frequency domain based one!
