Depends on the application and what message you want to encode. For generational copy control, 2 bits is sufficient in 10 seconds
of video. For authentication, the number of bits depends on the size of the digital signature. For tracking, you need the log of
the number of copies you intend to track plus a significant buffer of bits to accommodate ECC and perhaps ACC. For labeling, you
might embed a data record identifier and then use that identifier to look up a ton of info in a database (like Digimarc does), or
you might want to embed the ton of info directly into the work.
