[WM]: psychoacoustic model in wavelet domain

Hello, All:

I am currently investigating psychoacoustic model in wavelet domain and I can not find papers talking about it.

My question is how to calculate the psychoacoustic model in pure wavelet domain? Is it possible to calculate masking threshold in
each sub band directly in wavelet domain?

I know two papers actually talked about audio compression with wavelet and using a mapping function to get the masking threshold in
wavelet domain. But all of them have to compute the masking threshold in frequency domain first, using the MPEG 1 psychoacoustic
model. So those methods actually need more computation / less effective when dealing the psychoacoustic model.

So, if any one can give me some pointers how to model the psychoacoustic only with the wavelet coefficients, I would be very
grateful.
