IMPORTANT DATES
Abstracts Due: 11 April 2005
Manuscripts Due: 1 August 2005
The growing availability of multimedia information in digital form has motivated development of applications that make
extensive use of these data types. Furthermore, the need to communicate this media-rich info and applications has led to the
development and deployment of multimedia networks. This conference brings together practitioners and researchers working in
all aspects of multimedia content creation and content dissemination. This conference will serve as a forum for exchange of
novel ideas on multimedia application development, multimedia communication networks, strategies for the communication of
multimedia information, security issues related to the distribution of multimedia and standards and issues relevant to the
multimedia data types. Presenters are encouraged to demonstrate their solutions, the underlying concepts behind these
technologies, and the compromises required when implementing such technologies within the real-world resource constraints.
Papers are solicited in all areas of multimedia systems and multimedia applications including, but not limited to:
* wireless multimedia systems and technology
* QoS management and control, synchronization
* rate control mechanisms (CBR, VBR, ABR)
* error concealment and loss recovery
* secure multimedia communications
* watermarking and copyright protection schemes
* standards for audio-visual communications
* DTV and storage-based systems and technology
* internet applications, home shopping, games
* video conferencing and collaboration environments
* multimedia system implementations
* technology for universal multimedia access
* compressed-domain processing
* distributed multimedia applications
* immersive and interactive multimedia systems
