[WM]: Barni algorithm

Hi all,
   I am trying to implement Barni et al.'s detection scheme as in the paper: 
"IMproved Wavelet-Based Watermarking through Pixel-Wise Masking". When I am trying to detect the presence of the watermark I am
getting very low values for the correlation. The way I try to implemet the algorithm is:
generate the same watermark as used in the embedding.
I then extract the watermarked pixels and do the correlation between the DWT representation of these pixels and the watermark.

I am wondering if anyone can explain to me if I am doing this right.
