[WM]: Adaptive compression

Hi, all,
   this is another question not directly related to watermarking.
For data hiding purpose, I am looking for a ready-to-use or an
easy-to-modify-and-use
Matlab code for adaptive and context-capturing lossless compression like
LZW and/or
similar. I need to compress only binary sequencies. Any C-routine than
can be called
from Matlab environment would be also useful.
