Re: [WM]: HVS model for watermarked image quality evaluation.
Here at UCL (belgium) we have written several papers on watermarking
based on contrast (or pattern) masking.
I would recommand you the following two papers:
JF Delaigle, C De Vleeschouwer and B Macq, " A psychovisual approach for
digital picture watermarking", Journal of electronic imaging, vol 7,
nr3, pp628-640, July 1998.
JF Delaigle, C De Vleeschouwer and B Macq, "Watermarking based on a
human visual model", signal processing (Special Issue on Watermarking),
vol 66 nr.3, pp319-336, May 1998
I must confess the use of HVS model used is a bit hard to understand.
Otherwise, another interesting paper on the topic (they combine contrast
masking, luminance sensitivity and frequency sensitivity) is the
following one:
RB wolfgang, CI Podilchuck and EJ Delp, "Perceptual watermarks for
digital images and video", Proceedings of the IEEE, vol 87, nr 7,
pp1108-1126, July 1999
best rehards.
